Star Bakers of the Virtual CAYC Bake Off

14 bakers took part in the first Virtual CAYC Bake Off on Saturday 16th May. The standard was incredibly high and the creativity of all the cakes and muffins really impressed the judges (although also extremely sad to not be able to actually taste them!) Thank-you to the organisers Margaret, Jo and Kathryn for putting together this fun evening that brought members (young and old) together! If you missed out, fear not! Another night will be organised in the coming months.
Our two Star Bakers - Sara Carse and Luke Simpson - will be receiving their prizes shortly, and will hopefully share a photo modelling them! In the meantime, admire their winning creations. Luke created a Victoria sponge (with homemade jam!) in the shape of a Topper sail, decorating with raspberries, blueberries and a grape! Sara also baked a Victoria sponge, with a jam and buttercream filling and finished with CAYC-themed fondant icing motifs, including boats, dolphins, waves and crabs. Masterpieces!
