Sailing, Kayaking and Powerboat Driving Taster Sessions

Come along to our club, County Antrim Yacht Club to see what we have to offer for members. We'll have sailing, powerboating and kayaking taster sessions available. We'll have two time blocks available so you can try different activities. Please check below for information on your chosen activities, what to wear and what to expect.

Schedule:

Block A Arrival: 9:30am sharp for a quick hello and briefing on the plan.

Session time: 10:00am to 11:00am followed by debriefing & refreshments.

Block B Arrival: 11:00am sharp for a quick hello and briefing

Session time: 11:30am to 12:30pm followed by debriefing & refreshments.

Should you wish to book a second alternative session, e.g. a Powerboating or a Kayaking taster session, please select one session in alternative Blocks. After the sessions are over you are welcome to stay at the club for the rest of the day as we have our Opening Day (first day of the summer series racing) and a BBQ.

Sailing Information:

Participants must be 8+ plus. Please bring a change of clothes & shoes or wetsuit if you have one, and don't forget your towel! We'll provide you with a buoyancy aid if you don't have one before transferring you to a boat where an experienced sailor will look after you. We can only accommodate two adult people per boat, in some cases an adult with a small child is acceptable. Confident children may be taken sailing by our young Instructors. We will check with you if this is acceptable following your booking.

Kayaking Information:

Participants must be 8+. Please wear a wetsuit. We will provide a buoyancy aid if you don't have one.

Powerboat Information:

RYA Powerboat Level 1 taster session. Must be Age 12+. Please bring a change of clothes & shoes or wetsuit if you have one, and don't forget your towel! We'll provide you with a buoyancy aid if you don't have one before transferring you to a RIB where an experienced RYA Instructor will look after you.
