Plans for 2016 

John Hubbucks, Mobile team Adventure, is provisionally booked :
  • Adult Kayak Course for 21st /22nd May
  • Kids Taster Sessions for week commencing 8th August
Both of which will be promoted and participants signed up on 14th May – push the Boat out.

1 star Paddle Certificate

Dates : 7&8 June 2014 – £90 plus £5 for Certificate

These courses will be either 1 star for beginners and those wishing for a refresher course

or 2 star for those wishing to improve their skills, confidence and capability.

There is also a possibility of running a foundation Safety and Rescue (1 day course) course which will address skills required in rescue situations etc..

Picnic Paddle to Portmuck 2011



As part of our funding award to refurbish Beach Road we promised to have a paddle event each year open to club members and non club members. The paddle to portmuck on Sat 11th June 2011had a great turnout from club members & visitors on the day.
Requirements that were sitpulated :
So if you completed a course this year or last please try to come along. If you don’t have a kayak then we can maybe sort out loan boats.
The intended departure time is 11.30am and the trip mormally takes about 2.5 hrs or so with a leg stretch midway for those who want it. There will be a patrol boat in attendance in case anyone needs a lift. Kayaks will be transported back to Whitehead via topper trailer or similar.

The Club also opened the facilities to  John Hubbocks who brought kayaers down to Whitehead training on a couple of Wednesday nights during the summer.

Regular trips and short paddles in the bay took place throughout the season.

CANI course – shore based was held on Wednesday 30 March 2011 : approx 6.30 pm

Past courses

23 /24 April 2011  & 14/15 May  2011are the scheduled dates for two courses. Cost for these 1 star courses is £80. Applications will be accepted from age10 upwards. You will gain experience in a Candian Canoe & a Kayak.
