Rules for borrowing the Club Dinghies
You must be a member !
2 x Toppers , 5 x Optimists, 3 x GP14s, 2 x Picos
A booking must be completed for the use of boats to avoid disappointment and to ensure a controlled use of these dinghies. By signing this form you are accepting all rules pertaining to the use of the boats.
The boats must be cared for in the best possible manner. Any damage must be reported to the following: Boatswain (Richard Robinson), Sailing Secretary(Ben Ferris),Safety Officer(Rory McKenna),Principal (John Lewis), or any Committee Member at once. The borrower is responsible for the repair of any damage to the club’s satisfaction or pay the insurance excess where the blame lies with the borrower.
Please ensure the boat in use is checked prior to launching by an experienced sailor to ensure all items are secured correctly. e.g. Rudder pins on Picos, masts in Oppies & Toppers. Bailers are working, bungs are in transom of boats as required.
The dagger board, rudder, mast and sails must be stowed properly within the boats and the covers secured. Also dinghies parked appropriately off the main promenade.
The log book in the Training room is to be completed to indicate any damage to equipment. The penalty for not doing so is the Member is banned from using the equipment.
The same person may not book the boat for more than two weeks at one time, nor consecutively unless no other members require use of the boat.
All boats sailed by members outside of the normal organised days (Sundays & Wednesdays) do so at their own risk. Juniors must have parental supervision and permission to sail any boat. This is not the Club’s responsibility.
