Quiz Night

Fun for all the Family – Quiz night

Captain’s Night

Prizegiving – 2 November

Maiden – Film

Screening of the film Maiden on 14th Sept.

The film celebrates the 30th anniversary of Tracy Edwards leading the first all-female crew in the Whitbread Round the World Race, covering 33,000 miles and lasting nine months.

The film is not yet on public release and this is currently the only copy in NI (which is being held under lock and key). The CAYC event, that our Junior Committee has organised, is the first time that it will screened on the island of Ireland.

We are also delighted that Prof Louise Dubrais will join us on the 14th for a short talk. Louise was the crew doctor and sailed the first leg with Tracy. Louise’s husband was also involved in building the boat that they sailed in, and he features in the film.

This should be a really great family evening and the junior committee are hoping to raise as much money for the club as possible. There will be light snacks and the bar will be open until 10pm.
